This poster series was created in response to the 2016 ISTD brief ‘The Undiscovered Country...’. The brief was to design a publication that ‘visits death’ – a work that will inform and stimulate the intellect whilst pleasing the typographic designer’s eye. The target market for the publication was a discerning, intellectual, literary and design-aware audience. A series of four posters that fold down into booklets. Each poster represents and explains a different Japanese ritual carried out around the time of death.
